Hello, I am Elena
I work as a project manager. I'm a parent. An expat living in Milan, Italy.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more tangled than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Warm Shore Blend
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from life in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Italy continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Milan or anywhere in Italy, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Elena
